F(r)ictions: Creative Work in an Age of AI {2026 symposium}
Before F(r)ictions began, Sareeta Amrute and Andrew Shea sat down to explain what the day ahead was built to do: bring creative communities that rarely share a stage into the same room.
What happens when writers, models, archivists, and designers, fields that almost never compare notes, are asked to describe the same threat in their own words? Sareeta and Andrew walk through the shape of the day they built to find out, moving from frontline stories of workers and organizers, through the legal and policy questions, to a closing panel built around artists already reshaping what AI can be used for. Both of them return to the idea that ethics is not a compliance checklist, so what is it instead, and who actually gets a seat at the table when the answer is being decided?
